Members' PageA Successful Recruitment CampaignWe have had a record number of applicants for the course which starts in November, thanks to the persuasive powers of ex Award Holders, and aided very much by Ian Ashbridge's enthusiastic article which appeared in Farmers Weekly on April 28th. If you missed it, you can download a copy of the article here. We would like to thank also all the "Friends" of JET, commercial firms, show societies, training groups, NFU branches and others who forwarded emails and helped to spread the word. In particular, we are grateful to Farols who generously printed and sent out copies of the course information sheet with their April mailings. The selection panel have a difficult job of selecting twelve outstanding people to attend the course from the field of excellent applicants. Their decision will be announced by the end of June, so watch this space. Reunion
on May 8th

Heroically, Simon Wells (JET 06/07) not only organised
a flat point-to-point race at Barbary on
April 5th and
recruited sponsors and riders, but he also rode in the race
having renewed his acquaintance with a horse only a few months
ago after a gap of over 20 years.
Sadly for his supporters he didn't win, but Simon has the satisfaction of having raised a substantial sum for JET and Julian Harbottle had to console himself by presenting the prize to winner Tracey Bailey. |

It has now become almost a tradition to invite ex JET Scholars to a dinner evening during the Course.
The January and March sessions will once again be held at the Grosvenor at Stockbridge.
The dates of the guest evenings are 13th January and 11th March 2009
The speakers are not yet fixed, but you can be assured of a stimulating evening in congenial company. As always, we will be inviting individual course-years on one or the other of these evenings and we will be contacting representatives from each group nearer the time.
The funding gap grows ever wider between the cost of our unique JET courses and the Trust's income, but so far we have managed to put on courses at no cost to the new Award Holders. We would like to maintain this tradition, but to do so we do need more funds.
Quite a number of JET Alumni have already responded and are making regular donations. Katherine Parker has nobly taken on the task of contacting other previous JET scholars to ask them to make a contribution by way of a gift aid covenant.
Thank
you if you have already made a contribution; please encourage
others to do the same.
If you want a gift aid form, please click here
If you are an ex-scholar and have not been approached, please don’t feel left out. You haven't been forgotten!
A
modest individual contribution from everyone whose career
has been enhanced by the JET experience would enable the Trust to
continue to foster future rural leaders.
If you can help in any way, please contact either Katherine or Christopher Langford.
